Campsite of the Week – La Baume in Fréjus, Cote d’Azur from £167

This week’s Just Camping France site of the week is La Baume, located in the popular resort of Fréjus on the Cote d’Azur.

Open from the end of March until late September, the park is one of the most popular sites in the region. And when you consider it’s location, swimming pools and onsite activities it’s easy to see why it’s so popular year after year.

We’ll start with the large ‘Californian-style’ pool complex which includes several outdoor pools (some heated), a covered pool, 2 children’s pools and several waterslides and chutes.

The onsite activities aren’t just restricted to the pools! As well as full size tennis courts, 5-a-side football pitches and basketball, there’s a gym, archery, 2 kids playgrounds and cycle hire available (note some of these activities may incur a charge or may not be available all season).

Several FREE kids clubs are run at La Baume from the age of 4 right up to 17. As with many sites that offer the kids clubs, they split them into different age ranges so that the children can enjoy age appropriate activities and meet people of the same age.

There’s an onsite restaurant which also offers a takeaway service, a snack bar and a pizzeria plus a large bar.

If you do fancy some time off the park then the beach at Fréjus/St Raphael is just 5km away. The Aqualand Fréjus is the largest waterpark on the Cote d’Azur and if you’re feeling daring is well worth a visit! Also nearby is Fréjus Zoo and a little further is Marineland at Antibes – a superb sea world centre and home to some fantastic aquariums.

September Sunshine Deals!

If you’re not tied to school holidays then a September getaway is a great time of year for couples or families with pre-school children.

There are still plenty of sites which remain open well in to September and some even into October to the half term holidays.
